For I fear, lest by any means, when I come, I should find you not such as I desire, and that I, too, should be found by you such as ye do not desire; lest, by any means, there should be strife, jealousy, wraths, factions, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults;

Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you;

Charge those who are rich in this present age, not to be high-minded, nor to have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, Who giveth us richly all things for enjoyment;

Now, concerning the things sacrificed to idols, we know because we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you; but I will come to you shortly if the Lord will; and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power;

And ye have become puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he who did this deed might be taken away from you.
