Know therefore today that he who goes over before you as a consuming fire is the LORD your God. He will destroy them and subdue them before you. So you shall drive them out and make them perish quickly, as the LORD has promised you.

let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

See, the LORD your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has told you. Do not fear or be dismayed.'

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.'Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the LORD will be with you."

For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? "My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him.

And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end,

Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,

So we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?"

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The LORD is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.

Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth. Upon you I have leaned from before my birth; you are he who took me from my mother's womb. My praise is continually of you.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.

Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.

Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.

For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died;

because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.

Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have.

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.

One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean.

But take care that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol's temple, will he not be encouraged, if his conscience is weak, to eat food offered to idols? And so by your knowledge this weak person is destroyed, the brother for whom Christ died.

Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
