Therefore watch; for you cannot be sure on what day your Master is coming. But this you do know, that, had the owner of the house known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have been on the watch, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

'Sir, Sir,' they said, 'open the door to us!' But the bridegroom answered 'I tell you, I do not know you.' Therefore watch, since you know neither the Day nor the Hour.

See that you are on the watch; for you do not know when the time will be. It is like a man going on a journey, who leaves his home, puts his servants in charge--each having his special duty--and orders the porter to watch.
