But this is not the case with the wicked. They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not escape judgment, nor will sinners have a place in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will be destroyed.

"How often do the wicked have their lights put out? Does calamity ever fall on them? Will God in his anger ever apportion their destruction? May they become like a straw, blown away before the wind; like a chaff that's swept off by a storm.

He will clean up his threshing floor and gather his grain into the barn, but he will burn the chaff with inextinguishable fire."
