And when you pray, do not use empty repetitions as the Gentiles do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partners with them; for once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of lightread more.
(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), and try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret.

O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge,

speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord,

And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

What is the outcome then, brethren? When you come together, each one has a hymn, or a teaching, or a revelation, or a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.
