And the ones that fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.
But Martha was distracted with much serving; and she went to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things; but only one thing is needed. And Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."
"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly like a trap.
But I want you to be free from concern. One who is unmarried is concerned about the affairs of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; but a married man is concerned about the affairs of the world, how he may please his wife, and his interests are divided. The unmarried woman, and the virgin, is concerned about the affairs of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit; but the married woman is concerned about the affairs of the world, how she may please her husband.
Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Now when they bring you before the synagogues and rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you are to say; for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say."
