After this will I return and build up the tabernacle of David which had fallen down, and rebuild its ruins, and set it up,
Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God shall give him the throne of David his father, and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

David, therefore, calls him Lord; and how is he his son?
Blessed is the kingdom of our father David, which is coming! Hosanna in the highest [heavens]!
and the multitudes that went before, and those that followed, cried saying, Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest [heavens]!
But we hoped that he was the one who was to redeem Israel. But indeed, also, in addition to all these things, today is the third day since these things occurred;
They therefore having come together asked him, saying, Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom of Israel?
Men and brothers, let me speak to you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God swore with an oath to him to set a descendant of his on his throne, foreseeing he spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that he was not left in hades neither did his flesh see destruction.
And that he raised him from the dead never more to return to destruction, he said thus; I will give you the sure promises of David.
