See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.

And the flax and the barley were smitten, for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was in bloom.

He has broken me down on every side, and I am gone. And he has plucked up my hope like a tree.

And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come to Gaza, and left no sustenance in Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor donkey. For they came up with their cattle and their tents. They came in as locusts for multitude. Both they and their camels were without number, and they came into the land to destroy it.

Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy, but make not a full end. Take away her branches, for they are not LORD's.

The field is laid waste; the land mourns. For the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, the oil languishes.

Wail, O fir tree, for the cedar is fallen, because the fine ones are destroyed. Wail, O ye oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest has come down.

Because he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
