But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.
But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.

The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
