These things have I written to you, that ye may know that ye who believe in the name of the Son of God have everlasting life.

But these have been written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life in his name.

For whatever things were written aforetime, were written for our instruction; that we through the patience and the consolation of the Scriptures might have hope.

that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro and borne about by every wind of teaching, through the dishonest tricks of men, and their cunning in the wily arts of error;

And we have more sure the prophetic word, to which ye do well in taking heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the daystar arise in your hearts;

But shun the profane babblings; for they will go on to a higher degree of ungodliness;

but avoid foolish questionings, and genealogies, and strifes, and contentions about the Law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Now these things happened to them as warnings, and were recorded for our admonition, to whom the ends of the ages have come.

Do ye not yet understand, nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? To his own lord he standeth or falleth; and he shall be made to stand; for the Lord is able to make him stand.

We then who are strong ought to hear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

And he took a loaf, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body, which is given for you; this do in remembrance of me.
