Put on, therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, tender affections of compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering; (bearing with one another, and freely forgiving one another, if any one have a complaint against any; even as the Lord freely forgave you, so also do ye):

But, if any one has caused sorrow, he has caused sorrow, not to me, but in part (that I press not too heavily) to you all. Sufficient for such a one was the punishment inflicted by the many; so that, on the contrary, ye ought rather to forgive and console him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his excessive sorrow.read more.

Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and, if he repents, forgive him. And, if he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times turns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him."
