6 Bible Verses about Futility Of Worldly Pursuits

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out.

Charge those who are rich in this age, that they be not proud, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us all things richly for our enjoyment, that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, liberal, treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

For what will it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own life? Or, what will a man give as a ransom for his life?

But Abraham said, Son, remember that, in your lifetime, you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus his evil things. But now he is comforted, and you are tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that they that would pass hence to you, can not; nor can they that would, pass thence to us.
