12 Bible Verses about Generosity

Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren who dwelt in Judea:

Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again unto my necessity.

They gave according to their ability to the treasury of the work threescore and one thousand darics of gold, and five thousand minas of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.

And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with articles of silver, with gold, with goods, and with animals, and with precious things, besides all that was willingly offered.

And weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the articles, even the offering for the house of our God, which the king, and his counselors, and his lords, and all Israel there present, had offered:

And some of the heads of the fathers' houses gave to the work. The governor gave to the treasury a thousand darics of gold, fifty basins, five hundred and thirty priests' garments.

Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, I have of my own things, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses:

And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had finished.

And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and necklaces, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the LORD.

And they brought their offering before the LORD, six covered wagons, and twelve oxen; a wagon for two of the leaders, and for each one an ox: and they brought them before the tabernacle.

And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in there two mites. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow has cast in more than they all: read more.
For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her poverty has cast in all the living that she had.

And they spoke unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make.
