Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel thy servants, to whom thou sworest by thine own self and saidest unto them, 'I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land which I have said, I will give unto your seed: and they shall inherit it forever.'"
For to make thee a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
even the covenant that he made with Abraham, and the oath that he sware unto Isaac,
saying, "By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, because thou hast done this thing and hast not spared thy only son, that I will bless thee and multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven and as the sand upon the sea side. And thy seed shall possess the gates of his enemies.
For when God made promise to Abraham, because he had no greater thing to swear by, he sware by himself, saying, "Surely I will bless thee, and multiply thee indeed."
And to perform the oath, which he sware to our father Abraham, for to give us.
Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee: for unto thee and unto thy seed I will give all these countries. And I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham thy father,
And this must be unto me as the water of Noah. For like as I have sworn that I will not bring the water of Noah any more upon the world: so have I sworn, that I will never be angry with thee, nor reprove thee.

LORD, where are thy old loving-kindnesses, which thou sworest unto David in thy truth?
The LORD sware, and will not repent, "Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek."
Those priests were made without an oath: but this priest with an oath, by him that said unto him, "The Lord sware, and will not repent: Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek."
And for this cause it is a better hope, that it was not promised without an oath.
