Then he will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel he'll also be a stone with which someone strikes himself, a rock one stumbles over, a trap and a snare to those who live in Jerusalem.

An evil man is trapped by transgression, but the righteous person sings and rejoices.

In addition, no human being knows his time: Like fish captured in a cruel net, or as birds caught in a snare, so also are human beings caught by bad timing that surprises them.
Thorns and snares lie in the path of the perverse person, but whoever is cautious stays far away from them.
May their dining tables entrap them, and become a snare for their allies.
Does a bird fall into a snare on the ground without any bait in the trap? Will a trap snap shut when there is nothing to catch?
