Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell what you own and give the money to the destitute, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come back and follow me."

That is the way I run, with a clear goal in mind. That is the way I fight, not like someone shadow boxing. No, I keep on disciplining my body, making it serve me so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not somehow be disqualified.
I no longer live, but the Messiah lives in me, and the life that I am now living in this body I live by the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will never fulfill the desires of the flesh.
For you have died, and your life has been safely guarded by the Messiah in God.
Therefore, if anyone stops associating with these people, he will become a special utensil, set apart for the owner's use, prepared for every good action.
It trains us to renounce ungodly living and worldly passions so that we might live sensible, honest, and godly lives in the present age as we wait for the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior, Jesus the Messiah.
Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you.
so that he can live the rest of his mortal life guided, not by human desires, but by the will of God.

Now we who are strong ought to be patient with the weaknesses of those who are not strong and must stop pleasing ourselves.
So put to death your worldly impulses: sexual sin, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry).
No one serving in the military gets mixed up in civilian matters, for his aim is to please his commanding officer.
