And He has given some men to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers, for the immediate equipment of God's people for the work of service, for the ultimate building up of the body of Christ, until we all attain to unity in faith and to perfect knowledge of the Son of God, namely, to a mature manhood and to a perfect measure of Christ's moral stature;

and a slave of the Lord must not quarrel but must be gentle to everybody; he must be a skillful teacher, and not resentful under injuries. With gentleness he must correct his opponents, for God might grant them repentance that would lead them to a full knowledge of the truth, and they might recover their senses and escape from the devil's trap in which they have been caught by him to do his will.

You parents, too, must stop exasperating your children, but continue to bring them up with the sort of education and counsel the Lord approves.
