Parents Duty To Children

so they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and to love their children,
Then children were brought to Him so He might put His hands on them and pray. But the disciples rebuked them. Then Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to Me, because the kingdom of heaven is made up of people like this.”
Teach a youth about the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
“Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you don’t forget the things your eyes have seen and so that they don’t slip from your mind as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your grandchildren.
Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
and so that you may tell your son and grandson how severely I dealt with the Egyptians and performed miraculous signs among them, and you will know that I am Yahweh.”
We must not hide them from their children,
but must tell a future generation
the praises of the Lord,
His might, and the wonderful works
He has performed.
“As for you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands the intention of every thought. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.
Then he blessed Joseph and said:The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked,
the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,
As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
But if anyone does not provide for his own, that is his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
one who manages his own household competently, having his children under control with all dignity.
The one who will not use the rod hates his son,
but the one who loves him disciplines him diligently.
Discipline your son while there is hope;
don’t be intent on killing him.
Don’t withhold discipline from a youth;
if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.
Discipline your son, and it will bring you peace of mind
and give you delight.
Endure suffering as discipline: God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline?
Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so they won’t become discouraged.
Abraham was now old, getting on in years, and the Lord had blessed him in everything. Abraham said to his servant, the elder of his household who managed all he owned, “Place your hand under my thigh, and I will have you swear by the Lord, God of heaven and God of earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I live,read more.
but will go to my land and my family to take a wife for my son Isaac.”
Isaac summoned Jacob, blessed him, and commanded him: “Don’t take a wife from the Canaanite women. Go at once to Paddan-aram, to the house of Bethuel, your mother’s father. Marry one of the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother.
Whenever a round of banqueting was over, Job would send for his children and purify them, rising early in the morning to offer burnt offerings for all of them. For Job thought: Perhaps my children have sinned, having cursed God in their hearts. This was Job’s regular practice.
