which also our fathers received and brought in with Joshua, at their taking possession of the gentiles whom God drove out from before our fathers, until the days of David; who found favor before God, and asked that he might find a habitation for the God of Jacob. But Solomon built him a house.

and said to them, It is written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer; but ye make it a den of robbers."

And he taught, and said to them, Is it not written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? but ye have made it a den of robbers."

saying to them, It is written, "And my house shall be a house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of robbers."

Know ye not, that ye are Gods temple, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

And to show that ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father!

Yet the Most High dwelleth not in [temples] made with hands; as saith the prophet,

The God who made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Know ye not, that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God, and that ye are not your own?

he who also sealed us, and gave the Spirit as a pledge in our hearts.

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God said: "I will dwell among them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, ye having been rooted and grounded in love,

but Christ as a son over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and joyousness of our hope.

So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but are fellowcitizens with the saints, and members of the household of God, and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone; in whom all the building, fitly framed together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord;read more.
in whom ye also are built together into a dwellingplace of God in the Spirit.

To whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but in the sight of God chosen, honored, be ye yourselves also, as living stones, built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
