Now she that is a widow indeed and desolate, trusteth in God and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.
because he is his friend, yet, because of his importunity, he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say to you, Ask, and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. For every one that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.
And he spake a parable to them to this end, that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Saying, There was in a certain city a judge who feared not God nor reverenced man. And there was a widow in that city, and she came to him, saying, Do me justice on mine adversary. And he would not for a while, but afterwards he said in himself, Tho' I fear not God nor reverence man,read more.
Yet because this widow giveth me trouble, I will do her justice, left by her continual coming she weary me out. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith? And shall not God vindicate his own elect, who cry to him day and night, though he bear long with them? I tell you he will vindicate them speedily. Yet when the Son of man cometh, will he find faith upon earth?
which is the word of God, Praying alway by the Spirit with all prayer and supplication, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,
For God, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, is my witness, how incessantly I make mention of you, Always requesting in my prayers to come unto you, if by any means now at length I may have a prosperous journey by the will of God.
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayer, that ye may stand, perfect and filled, with all the will of God.
We give thanks to God always for you all (making mention of you in our prayers, Remembring without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of our God and Father:
I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with a pure conscience, that I have remembrance of thee in my prayers without ceasing night and day,
