I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his offspring begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; and his descendants are blessed.
For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command you, saying, you shall open your hand wide unto your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Say not unto your neighbor, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when you have it with you.
Give to him that asks you, and from him that would borrow of you turn not away.
If there be among you a poor man of one of your brethren within any of your gates in your land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother: But you shall open your hand wide unto him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he lacks.
And if your brother becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you; then you shall help him: yea, though he be a stranger, or a sojourner; that he may live with you. Take you no interest from him, or profit: but fear your God; that your brother may live with you.
For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you will you may do them good: but me you have not always.
And if you lend to them of whom you hope to receive, what thanks have you? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be you therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

The LORD shall open unto you his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand: and you shall lend unto many nations, and you shall not borrow. And the LORD shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath; if that you hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day, to observe and to do them:
There were also those that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tax, and that upon our lands and vineyards. Yet now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and some of our daughters are brought unto bondage already: neither is it in our power to redeem them; for other men have our lands and vineyards.
And if a man borrow anything of his neighbor, and it be hurt, or dies, the owner of it being not with it, he shall surely make it good.
But as one was cutting down a tree, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.
Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns it upside down, and scatters abroad its inhabitants. And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor.
Take you no interest from him, or profit: but fear your God; that your brother may live with you. You shall not lend him your money at interest, nor lend him your food for profit.
If you lend money to any of my people who is poor among you, you shall not be to him as a lender, neither shall you charge him interest.
You shall not charge interest to your brother; interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest:
He that puts not out his money at interest, nor takes reward against the innocent. He that does these things shall never be moved.
He that has not lent money for interest, neither has taken any increase, that has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true justice between man and man,
Give to every man that asks of you; and of him that takes away your goods ask them not again. And as you would that men should do to you, do you also to them likewise.
He that has pity upon the poor lends unto the LORD; and that which he has given will he pay him again.
A good man shows favor, and lends: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
And if any man say unto you, Why do you this? say that the Lord has need of him; and immediately he will send him here.
