So, brothers, stand fast, and hold fast the teachings which you have been taught by me, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
But I entreat you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.

So they, when they had been dispatched, went down to Antioch, and after gathering the whole multitude together, they handed them the letter, and when they had read it they rejoiced at the comfort it brought.
Let it not seem as if I were overawing you with my letters. "His letters indeed," says one, "are mighty and forcible, but his personality is weak, and his speech contemptible." Let such a man assure himself that my actions, when I am present, will be just like my words in my letters when I am absent.
And when this letter has been read to you, see that it is read also in the church of Laodiceans, and that you also read the letter from Laodicea.
I adjure you, in the name of the Lord, to have this letter read to all the brothers.
