You who are husbands must love your wives, just as Christ loves the church and gave himself for her,

But each one of you must love his wife just as he loves himself, and the wife, too, must respect her husband.

And over all these put on love, which completes them and fastens them all together.

The husband must give his wife what is due her, and the wife must do the same by her husband.

This is a great secret, but I understand it of Christ and the church.
