but he was rebuked for his own transgression by a donkeya beast without speechwho spoke with a man's voice and restrained the prophet's madness.

There was again a division among the Jews because of these words. Many of them said, "He has a demon, and is mad. Why listen to him?" Others said, "These are not the sayings of one who has a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?"

Then he went home; and the crowd came together again, so that they could not even eat. When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, "He is out of his mind." And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub, and by the prince of demons he casts out the demons."

But some of them said, "He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the prince of demons."

And as he was saying this in his defense, Festus said in a loud voice, "Paul, you are out of your mind! Your great learning is driving you mad." But Paul said, "I am not mad, most excellent Festus, but I am speaking the sober truth.

For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
