Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father the child; and children will rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all men on my account: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.

Remember those who are in bonds, as if you yourselves had been bound, and those who suffer affliction, since you yourselves are in the body.

And fear not them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Then Jesus said to his disciples: If any one determines to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever will save his life, shall lose it. But whoever will lose his life for my sake, shall find it.

But Paul answered: What do you effect by weeping, and breaking my heart? For I am ready, not only to be bound, but also to suffer death in Jerusalem, for the name of the Lord Jesus.
