but we speak a wisdom of God hid in mystery, which God appointed from eternity for our glory,
Know you not that those who perform sacred rites eat from the temple? Those who wait on the altar partake of the altar? So also the Lord has appointed to those who preach the gospel to live by the gospel.

You are my friends if you do what I command you; I no longer call you servants, for the servant knows not what his Lord does; but I have called you friends: for all things which I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you to go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should continue, that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
