Now the high priests and the whole council were trying to get false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put him to death. The high priests and the whole council tried to get evidence against Jesus in order to put him to death, and they could find none, for while many gave false testimony against him their evidence did not agree. Some got up and gave false testimony against him to this effect:read more.
