And when thou mayest pray, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites, because they love in the synagogues, and in the corners of the broad places -- standing -- to pray, that they may be seen of men; verily I say to you, that they have their reward. But thou, when thou mayest pray, go into thy chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who is seeing in secret, shall reward thee manifestly.

And having gone forth, he went on, according to custom, to the mount of the Olives, and his disciples also followed him, and having come to the place, he said to them, 'Pray ye not to enter into temptation.' And he was withdrawn from them, as it were a stone's cast, and having fallen on the knees he was praying,read more.
saying, 'Father, if Thou be counselling to make this cup pass from me -- ;but, not my will, but Thine be done.' --
And it came to pass in those days, he went forth to the mountain to pray, and was passing the night in the prayer of God,
