And they sent to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth; neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute to Cesar, or not? But Jesus knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?read more.
Shew me the tribute-mony. And they brought to him a penny. He saith to them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say to him, Cesar's. Then said he to them, Render therefore to Cesar the things that are Cesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And hearing it they marvelled. And they left him and went away. The same day came the Saducees, who say there is no resurrection, and they asked him, Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed to his brother. Now there were with us seven brethren, and the first, having married a wife died, and having no issue, left his wife to his brother. Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife shall she be of the seven? For they all had her. Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. God is not a God of the dead, but of the living. And the multitude hearing it, were astonished at his doctrine. But the Pharisees having heard, that he had silenced the Saducees, were gathered together. And one of them, a scribe, asked him a question, trying him and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Then Pilate returned into the palace, and called Jesus, and said to him, Art thou the king of the Jews? Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this of thyself? or did others tell it thee of me? Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thy own nation, even the chief priests, have delivered thee to me.read more.
What hast thou done? Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought, that I might not be delivered to the Jews: but my kingdom is not from hence. Pilate said to him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest. I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I might bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth, heareth my voice. Pilate saith to him, What is truth? And having said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them, I find no fault in him.

At that time came the disciples to Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus calling to him a little child, set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say to you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.read more.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a milstone were hanged about his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

And when they were come together, they asked him, saying, Lord, dost thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he? They say to him, David's. He saith to them, How doth David then by the Spirit call him Lord?read more.
Saying, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my righthand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
