20 Bible Verses about Resurrection, Of The Dead

and the graves opened, and many bodies of departed saints arose,

Wonder not at this; for the time is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth, they that have done good to the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil to the resurrection of damnation.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged by the things written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every one according to their works.

Because He hath fixed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness, by that man whom He hath appointed thereto; having given assurance of it to all men, by raising Him from the dead.

in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet (for the trumpet shall sound) and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed:

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with acclamation, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;

having hope in God, (which they themselves also expect) that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

So when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon his glorious throne: and all nations shall be assembled before Him; and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides the sheep from the goats:

Now if it be preached that Christ is risen from the dead, how say some among you, that there is no resurrection of the dead?

On the same day came the sadducees to Him, who say there is no resurrection,

Then come the sadducees to Him, who say there is no resurrection;

And some of the Sadducees (who deny a resurrection) came to Him and asked Him,

For the sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit; but the pharisees acknowledge both.

saying that the resurrection is already past; and subvert the faith of some.

But some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him; and some said, What would this babler say? and others, He seemeth to be a proclaimer of foreign deities: because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection.

What! is it judged incredible by you, that God should raise the dead?

But Jesus answered them, Ye are mistaken, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God: for in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels of God in heaven. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read what is spoken to you by God,read more.
saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God? For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels in heaven. But as to the dead, that they are raised, have ye not read in the book of Moses, how God spake to him in the bush, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?read more.
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: therefore ye do greatly mistake.

And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry and are given in marriage. But they who are counted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: for they can die no more, being like the angels: and they are the children of God as being the children of the resurrection.read more.
Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush; for he calleth the Lord, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; for to Him they are all living.

But some will say, How are the dead raised, and with what body do they come? Silly creature! that which thou sowest, is not quickened, except it die first. And as to what thou sowest, thou sowest not the very body that shall be produced, but a bare grain, it may be, of wheat, or any other corn:read more.
and God giveth it a body as He pleaseth, and to every one of the seeds it's own body. All flesh is not the same kind of flesh: but there is one flesh of men, and another of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and terrestrial bodies: but there is one glory of the celestial, and another of the terrestrial. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: and one star differeth from another star in glory. So also will be the resurrection of the dead. Our body is sown in corruption, it is raised incorruptible: it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown an animal body, it is raised a spiritual body: for there is an animal body, and there is a spiritual body.
