Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and thieves break through and steal:

Your riches are corrupted, and your garments have become moth-eaten: your gold and your silver are cankered; and their rust shall be for a witness against you, and eat your flesh like fire. You laid up treasures in the last days.

and the fruit of thy soul's inordinate desire has departed from thee; and all things bright and shining have perished from thee, and they will no longer find them.
