"'If ye shall say: What shall we eat the seventh year inasmuch as we shall not sow nor gather in our increase?
{Lamed} Even when they spake to their mothers, "Where is meat and drink?" For while they so said, they fell down in the streets of the city, like as they had been wounded, and some died in their mothers' bosom.
When he goeth forth to get his living, he thinketh plainly, that the day of darkness is at hand.
Therefore take no thought, saying, 'What shall we eat?' Or. 'What shall we drink?' Or, 'Wherewith shall we be clothed?'
Therefore I say unto you, be not careful for your life what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what raiment ye shall put on. Is not the life more worth than meat? and the body more of value than raiment?
And ask not what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither climb ye up on high:
And he spake unto his disciples, "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat: Neither for your body, what ye shall put on.
Behold, even as the wild asses in the desert go they forth to their work, and rise betimes to spoil: Yea, the very wilderness ministereth food for them and their children. by times, as their manner is, to spoil: Yea the very wilderness ministereth food for their children.
Let them run here and there for meat, and grudge when they have not enough.
{Khaf} All her people seek their bread with heaviness, and look: what precious things every man hath, that giveth he for meat to save his life. Consider, O LORD, and see, how vile I am become.
{Daleth} The tongues of the sucking children, cleave to the roof of their mouths for very thirst. The young children ask bread, but there is no man that giveth it them.
We must get our living with the peril of our lives because of the drought of the wilderness.
