But let him ask in faith, without wavering; for he who wavers is like a surge of the sea, wind-driven and tossed.
Thereupon Jesus' disciples came to him and asked him privately, "Why were we not able to cast it out?"
"Because of your little faith," he answered. "In solemn truth I tell you that if you have faith the size of a mustard-seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from this place to that!' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
"And now you shall be silent and unable to speak until the day the day when this has taken place; because you did not believe my words??ords which will be fulfilled at their appointed time."
But the whole story seemed to them but an idle tale; and they disbelieved the women.
"For John came to you in the road of righteousness, and you did not give credence to him; but the tax-gatherers and the harlots gave credence to him. But you, although you saw this, did not even then change your minds and give credence to him.
"Are you the Christ? Tell us!" "If I tell you," he answered, "you will not believe;
"Most solemnly I tell you we are speaking of what we know, and it is about that of which we were eyewitnesses that we give testimony. Yet all of you reject our testimony.
Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you all see signs and wonders, you will not believe."
"Yet there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was who should betray him.
Jesus answered them. "I have told you, and you do not believe. The works which I am doing in my Father's name, these bear witness concerning me.
With these words Jesus went away and hid himself from them. But although he had wrought such signs in their presence, still they did not believe in him.

But he told them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and thrust my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
