Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

I hate those who are double-minded,
But I love Your law.
You are my hiding place and my shield;
I wait for Your word.
Depart from me, evildoers,
That I may observe the commandments of my God.
Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people did not answer him a word.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of it may become clean also. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.read more.
So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
But the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the platter; but inside of you, you are full of robbery and wickedness. You foolish ones, did not He who made the outside make the inside also?
Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not double-tongued, or addicted to much wine or fond of sordid gain,
Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If you return to the Lord with all your heart, remove the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your hearts to the Lord and serve Him alone; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

They feared the Lord and served their own gods according to the custom of the nations from among whom they had been carried away into exile.

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.
They speak falsehood to one another;
With flattering lips and with a double heart they speak.
Like a trampled spring and a polluted well
Is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.
