Another figure which he used in speaking to them was this: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field.
The field is the world. The good seed is the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the wicked.
and some fell on rocky ground where there was not much soil and it sprang up at once, because the soil was not deep,
It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown in the ground, though it is the smallest of all the seeds in the world,
I did the planting, Apollos the watering, but it was God who made the plants grow.
and then sleeping at night and getting up by day, while the seed sprouts and comes up, without his knowing it.

The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the close of the age, and the reapers are angels.
