Therefore Jesus, to sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore out of the tents, and suffer rebuke with him.
And they went up on the plain of the earth, and compassed the tents of the saints about, and the beloved city. And fire came down from God, out of heaven, and devoured them:
While Peter yet spake these words, the holy ghost fell on all them which heard the preaching.
and said unto them, "Have ye received the holy ghost since ye believed?" And they said unto him, "No. We have not heard whether there be any holy ghost or no."
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the meaning of the spirit: for he maketh intercession for the saints according to the pleasure of God.

Hereby shall ye know the spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God.

And the disciples came, and said to him, "Why speakest thou to them in parables?" He answered, and said unto them, "It is given unto you to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
He said unto them, "But whom say ye that I am?" Simon Peter answered, and said, "Thou art Christ, the son of the living God." And Jesus answered, and said to him, "Happy art thou, Simon the son of Jonas, for flesh and blood hath not opened unto thee that, but my father which is in heaven.
Then opened he their wits, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, "Thus is it written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise again from death the third day.
