but ye shall receive power of the holy ghost which shall come on you. And ye shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Jewry, and in Samaria, and even unto the world's end."
Then came to my remembrance the words of the Lord, how he said, 'John baptised with water, but ye shall be baptised with the holy ghost.'
John answered and said to them all, "I baptise you with water, but a stronger than I cometh after me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthy to unloose: he will baptise you with the holy ghost, and with fire,
Go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and the son and the holy ghost;
He that believeth and is baptised, shall be saved: But he that believeth not, shall be damned.
And behold, I will send the promise of my father upon you. But tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high."
And Paul laid his hands upon them: and the holy ghost came on them, and they spake with tongues and prophesied;
For by grace are ye made safe through faith, and that, not of yourselves: For it is the gift of God, and cometh not of works, lest any man should boast himself.
It fortuned, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul passed through the upper coasts, and came to Ephesus, and found certain disciples and said unto them, "Have ye received the holy ghost since ye believed?" And they said unto him, "No. We have not heard whether there be any holy ghost or no." And he said unto them, "Wherewith were ye then baptised?" And they said, "With John's baptism."read more.
Then said Paul, "John verily baptised with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him, which should come after him. That is on Christ Jesus." When the fiftieth day was come, they were all with one accord gathered together in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as it had been the coming of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they sat. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues, like as they had been fire, and it sat upon each of them:read more.

We are buried with him by baptism for to die: That likewise as Christ was raised up from death by the glory of the father: even so we also should walk in a new life. For if we be graft in death like unto him: even so must we be in the resurrection.read more.
This we must remember, that our old man is crucified with him also, that the body of sin might utterly be destroyed; that henceforth we should not be servants of sin. For he that is dead, is justified from sin.

And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria came to Ephesus: an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures. The same was informed in the way of the Lord, and he spake fervently in the spirit, and taught diligently the things of the Lord, and knew but the baptism of John only. And the same began to speak boldly in the Synagogue. And when Priscilla and Aquila had heard him: they took him unto them; And expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.read more.

and shall kill serpents. And if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay their hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
"Can any man forbid water that these should not be baptised, which have received the holy ghost as well as we?"
But as soon as they believed Philip's preaching of the kingdom of God and of the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptised: both men and women.
