And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each of the gates was of one pearl. And the street of the city was of pure gold, transparent as glass.

But take heed not to perform your righteousness before men, to be seen by them; otherwise indeed, you have no reward from your Father in heaven. When, therefore, you give in charity, sound not a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do, in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be glorified by men. And wherever he went, in villages, or cities, or country places, they placed the sick in the markets, and besought him that they might touch the fringe of his garment, and as many as touched him were cured.

And the servant came and reported to his lord these things. Then the master of the house; being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and maimed, and blind, and lame.

And the Lord said to him, Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for [a man] by the name of Saul of Tarsus; for behold, he prays,

And one of those reclining with him, hearing these things, said to him, Blessed is he that eats bread in the kingdom of God. And he said to him, A certain man made a great supper, and invited many. And he sent his servant at the time of the supper to say to the invited, Come, for all things are now ready.read more.
And they all with one consent excused themselves. The first said to him, I have bought a field and I must go to see it; I pray you have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yokes of oxen and I go to try them; I pray you have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and on this account I cannot come. And the servant came and reported to his lord these things. Then the master of the house; being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and maimed, and blind, and lame. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as you commanded, and yet there is room. And the Lord said to the servant, Go out into the ways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled; for I tell you that none of those men that were invited shall taste of my supper.
