So also the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how small a fire kindles how great a forest!

Charge those who are rich in this present age, not to be high-minded, nor to have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, Who giveth us richly all things for enjoyment;

Then came to Him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, worshiping and asking something of Him. And He said to her, "What do you wish?" She says to Him, "Command, that these my two sons may sit, one on Thy right hand, and one on Thy left, in Thy Kingdom." But Jesus, answering, said, "Ye know not what ye are asking. Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?" They say to Him, "We are able."read more.

Not so shall it be among you; but whosoever wishes to become great among you shall be your minister; and whosoever wishes to be first among you shall be your servant; even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give His soul a ransom for many."
And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come to Him, saying to Him, "Teacher, we wish that Thou wouldest do for us whatsoever we ask." And He said to them, "What do you wish that I should do for you?" And they said to Him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one on Thy right hand, and one on Thy left, in Thy Kingdom."read more.
But Jesus said to them, "Ye know not what ye are asking. Are ye able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with?" And they said to Him, "We are able." And Jesus said to them, "The cup that I drink ye shall drink; and the immersion with which I am immersed shall ye be immersed; but to sit on My right hand, or on My left, is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared." And the ten, hearing it, began to be much displeased with James and John. And Jesus, calling them to Him, saith to them, "Ye know that those thinking to rule over the gentiles lord it over them; and their great ones exercise authority over them; but it is not so among you; but whosoever wishes to become great among you shall be your minister; and whosoever wishes to be first among you shall be servant of all: for even the Son of Man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his soul a ransom for many."
When, therefore, He washed their feet, and took His garments, and reclined again, He said to them, "Do ye know what I have done to you? Ye call Me 'The Teacher,' and 'The Lord;' and ye say well; for so I am. If, therefore, I, 'The Lord,' and 'The Teacher,' washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet;read more.
for I gave you an example, that, as I did to you, ye also should do. Verily, verily, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his lord, nor one who is sent greater than he who sent him. If ye know these things, happy are ye, if ye do them.
