And He spake a parable to them, saying, "A certain rich man's field yielded bountifully; and he reasoned within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, because I have not where to store my fruits?' And he said, 'This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there will I store all my grain and my goods.

but especially those who walk after the flesh in a desire for pollution, and despise dominion; daring, self-willed, they tremble not, when railing at dignities;

Come now, ye who say, "To-day or to-morrow we will go into this city, and spend one year there, and trade, and get gain,"

but he who denied Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

As much as she glorified herself, and lived luxuriously, so much torment and mourning give her; because she says in her heart, 'I sit a queen, and am not a widow, and shall in nowise see mourning.' Therefore, in one day shall come her plagues, death and mourning and famine; and she shall be burned up with fire; because strong is the Lord God who judged her.

Then were brought to Him little children, that He might put His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.

And they were bringing to Him their babes, also, that He might touch them; but the disciples, seeing it, were rebuking them.

And they were bringing little children to Him, that He might touch them; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus, seeing it, was much displeased, and said to them, "Permit the little children to come to Me; forbid them not; for to such belongs the Kingdom of God.

And the disciples, seeing it, were much displeased, saying, "To what purpose is this waste? For this might have been sold for much, and given to the poor!"

But there were some who were much displeased among themselves, saying, "To what purpose has this waste of the ointment been made? For this ointment could have been sold for above three hundred denaries, and given to the poor!" And they were murmuring against her.

Because you say, 'I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing'; and do not know that you are the wretched one, and pitiable, and poor, and blind, and naked!

And those passing by railed on Him, wagging their beads, and saying, "Aha! Thou Who destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days! save Thyself, coming down from the cross!" In like manner the high priests, mocking Him among themselves with the scribes, said, "He saved others; Himself He cannot save! read more.
Let the Christ, the King of Israel now come down from the cross, that we may see, and believe!" And those who were crucified with Him were reproaching Him.

"Others He saved, Himself He cannot save! King of Israel is He! let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe on Him! He has trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now, if He desireth Him; because He said, 'I am God's Son.'"

The Pharisee, having taken his stand, was praying these things with himself: 'God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax-collector!

And Jesus said, "Who is it that touched Me?" And, when all were denying, Peter said, "Master, the multitudes are thronging Thee, and hard pressing Thee!"

From that time began Jesus to show to His disciples, that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and high-priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised up. And Peter, taking Him aside, began to rebuke Him, saying, "God be merciful to Thee! this shall not be to Thee." But, turning, He said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! you are a stumbling-block to Me; because you are not thinking of the things of God, but the things of men."

And He spake the saying openly. And Peter took Him, and began to rebuke Him.

he that opposes himself against, and exalts himself above, all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he sits in the temple of God, exhibiting himself as God.

Peter, turning about, sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also at the Supper leaned back on Jesus' breast, and said, "Lord, who is he that betrays Thee?" Peter therefore, seeing him, says to Jesus, "Lord, and what will this man do?" Jesus saith to him, "If I wish him to remain till I come, what is it to you? follow Me."

If Thou doest these things, manifest Thyself to the world." For even His brethren did not believe on Him.
