The hearing ear and the seeing eye,The Lord has made both of them.
Then He opens the ears of men,And seals their instruction,
“He opens their ear to instruction,And commands that they return from evil.
The Lord God has opened My ear;And I was not disobedientNor did I turn back.
Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened;Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.
If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?
He who planted the ear, does He not hear?He who formed the eye, does He not see?
All things are wearisome;Man is not able to tell it.The eye is not satisfied with seeing,Nor is the ear filled with hearing.
