And the tempter coming to him said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answering said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Again the devil taketh him with him to an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them, And saith to him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then Jesus saith to him, Get thee hence, Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
And going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; yet not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Again the second time he went away and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup cannot pass from me, unless I drink it, thy will be done.
And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee: take away this cup from me: yet not what I will, but what thou wilt.
For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
But when all things shall be put under him, then shall the Son himself also be subject to him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God; Yet emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.read more.
