Moreover we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we reverenced them: Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

For I have not spoken of myself, but the Father who sent me, he gave me commandment, what I should say, and how I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; what therefore I speak to you, as the Father hath said to me, so I speak.
But when he saith, All things are put under him, it is manifest that he who did put all things under him is excepted. But when all things shall be put under him, then shall the Son himself also be subject to him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications, with strong crying and tears, unto him that was able to save him from death, and being heard from his fears; Tho' he was a son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered, And being perfected,
Therefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou hast not chosen, but a body hast thou prepared for me. Burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast not delighted in. Then I said, Lo I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God.
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God; Yet emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
(and he is the Saviour of the body) Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so also let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
And he hath put all things under his feet, and hath given him to be head over all things to the church, Which is his body; who is the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
who is the beginning, the first-begotten from the dead, that in all things he might have the pre-eminence.

But whoso looketh diligently into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and continueth therein, this man being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the word, this man shall be happy in his doing.
I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man add to them, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part of the tree of life, and the holy city, which are written in this book.
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves; for they watch over your souls, as they that must give account; that they may do this with joy, and not with groans: for that is unprofitable for you.
Let every soul be subject to the supreme powers, for there is no power but from God; the powers that be, are appointed by God.

Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For this cause ye pay tribute also: for they are the ministers of God, attending continually on this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom, fear to whom fear, honour to whom honour.
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready for every good work:
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether it be to the king as supreme, Or to governors, as sent by him, for the punishment of evil-doers, and the praise of them that do well.
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as unto the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as Christ also is head of the church: (and he is the Saviour of the body) Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so also let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands (as is fit) in the Lord.
That they instruct the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, to love their chidren, Discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
In like manner, ye wives, be subject to your own husbands, that if any obey not the word, they also may, without the word, be won by the conversation of the wives,
Children, obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right. Honour thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayst live long upon the earth.
But is under tutors and stewards, till the time appointed by the father.
Children, obey your parents in all things; for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.
Servants, obey your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as unto the Lord: Not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, With good will doing service as unto the Lord, and not to men:read more.
Knowing that whatsoever good each man doth, the same shall he receive from the Lord, whether he be a servant or free.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Exhort servants to be obedient to their own masters, to please them in all things, not answering again, Not stealing, but shewing all good fidelity, that they may in all things adorn the gospel of God our Saviour.
Honour the king, Servants be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
In like manner, ye younger, submit yourselves to the elder, and be ye all subject to each other. Be ye cloathed with humility; for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify it (having cleansed it by the washing of water) through the word: That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, that it may be holy and unblamable.read more.
Men ought so to love their wives as their own bodies: he that loveth his wife, loveth himself. Now no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, as also the Lord the church. For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery; I mean, concerning Christ and the church. But let every one of you in particular so love his wife as himself: and let the wife reverence her husband.
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the instruction and discipline of the Lord.
I exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made for all men: For kings and all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
The elders that are among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and likewise a partaker of the glory which shall be revealed, Feed the flock of God which is among you, overseeing it not by constraint, but willingly, not for filthy gain, but of a ready mind, Neither as lording over the heritage, but being examples to the flock.read more.
And when the chief shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.
