So, be careful how you live. Do not live ignorantly, but wisely, making the most of every opportunity, because these days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
Be wise in the way you live in front of outsiders [i.e., non-Christians], making the most of every opportunity.
But if any one of you lacks wisdom, he should pray to God, who gives to everyone generously and does not begrudge [the person who asks], and it will be given to him.
So, we do not look at the things which can be seen, but at what cannot be seen, for the things which can be seen are [only] temporary, but the things which cannot be seen are never ending.
For which one of you who wants to build a [lookout] tower will not first sit down and calculate its cost, to see whether he has enough [money and materiel] to complete it?
As each of you has received a gift [from God], you should make use of it [in the body], so that you will be [good] caretakers of the many unearned ways that God favors you.
