"Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye are like white-washed sepulchres, which outwardly, indeed, appear beautiful, but within are full of bones of the dead and of all uncleanness. So ye also outwardly, indeed, appear righteous to men; but within ye are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous, and say, 'If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.' So then ye testify to yourselves that ye are sons of those who killed the prophets; and fill ye up the measure of your fathers. Serpents! broods of vipers! How can ye escape the judgment of Hell?

And He said to His disciples, "It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe to him through whom they come! It were profitable for him, if a millstone were placed about his neck, and he thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and, if he repents, forgive him.
"Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you Bethsaida! because, if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.
Then He began to upbraid the cities in which were done most of His mighty works, because they did not repent. "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! because, if the mighty works which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes; nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.
The Son of Man, indeed, goeth, as it has been written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It were good for him, if that man had never been born!"
