And I saw, and heard an eagle flying in mid-heaven, saying with a great voice, "Woe, woe, woe, to those who dwell on the earth, by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!"

On this account, rejoice, ye Heavens, and ye who dwell in them! Woe to the earth, and to the sea! because the Devil went down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a little time.

standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! because in one hour your judgment came!'

For, if I proclaim the Gospel, it is not to me a matter of boasting; for necessity is laid upon me; for woe is to me, if I proclaim not the Gospel.

Blind Pharisees! cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the dish, that its outside also may become clean. "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye are like white-washed sepulchres, which outwardly, indeed, appear beautiful, but within are full of bones of the dead and of all uncleanness. So ye also outwardly, indeed, appear righteous to men; but within ye are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous, and say, 'If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.' So then ye testify to yourselves that ye are sons of those who killed the prophets; and fill ye up the measure of your fathers. Serpents! broods of vipers! How can ye escape the judgment of Hell?

"But woe to you Pharisees! because ye tithe the mint, and the rue, and every herb; but ye pass by judgment and the love of God. Now these things it was needful to do, and not to leave those undone. "Woe to you Pharisees! because ye love the first seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the marketplaces! Woe to you! because ye are as the unobserved tombs; and the men, walking over them, know it not."read more.
And one of the lawyers, answering, says to Him, "Teacher, in saying these things, Thou insultest us also!" And He said, "Woe to you lawyers, also! because ye burden men with burdens hard to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers! "Woe to you! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. Consequently, ye are witnesses, and consent to the works of your fathers; because they, indeed, killed them, and ye build their tombs. "Woe to the world because of stumbling-blocks! for there is a necessity that the stumbling-blocks come; but woe to the man through whom the stumbling-block comes!

And He said to His disciples, "It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe to him through whom they come! It were profitable for him, if a millstone were placed about his neck, and he thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and, if he repents, forgive him.

"Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you Bethsaida! because, if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.

Then He began to upbraid the cities in which were done most of His mighty works, because they did not repent. "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! because, if the mighty works which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes; nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.

The Son of Man, indeed, goeth, as it has been written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It were good for him, if that man had never been born!"

Because the Son of Man is going as it has been written concerning Him; but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It were good for him, if that man had not been born."

But woe to the women with child, and to those giving suck, in those days! And pray, that your flight be not in winter, nor on a sabbath; for then will be great tribulation, such as has not happened from the beginning of the world until now; no, nor ever shall be.

But woe to those with child and to those giving suck in those days! And pray that it be not in winter; for those days will be a time of tribulation, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be.

Woe to the women with child, and to those giving suck, in those days; for there will be great distress on the land, and wrath to this people.
