and, as they were eating, He said, "Verily I say to you, one of you will betray Me." And, being exceedingly grieved, they began to say to Him, each one, "Is it I, Lord?" And He, answering, said, "He who dipped with Me his hand in the dish, the same will betray Me.

And, when about to go up to Jerusalem, Jesus took with Him the twelve disciples privately, and on the way He said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the high-priests and scribes; and they will condemn Him to death; and will deliver Him up to the gentiles, to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify; and, on the third day, He will be raised up "

And, while He is yet speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a large multitude, with swords and clubs, from the high priests and elders of the people. And he who was betraying Him gave them a sign, saying, "Whomsoever I kiss, He it is; seize Him." And immediately coming to Jesus, he said, "Hail, Rabbi!" and kissed Him.
And straightway, while He yet spake, comes Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a multitude with swords and clubs, from the high priests and the scribes and the elders. Now he that was betraying Him gave them a signal, saying, "Whomsoever I shall kiss, This is He, take Him, and lead Him away securely." And, having come, going straightway to Him, he says, "Rabbi;" and kissed Him.
While He was yet speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, was coming before them; and he drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. And Jesus said to him, "Judas, do ye betray the Son of Man with a kiss?"
Then Judas, who betrayed Him, seeing that He was condemned, repenting, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the high priests and the elders, saying, "I sinned, having betrayed innocent blood." But they said, "What is that to us? You may see to that." And, throwing the pieces of silver into the temple, he withdrew; and, going away, he hanged himself.
"And brother will deliver up brother to death; and father, his child; and children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
