Peter protested: Even if I must die for you, I would not deny you! His disciples said the same thing.

Peter was seated in the square outside the house, and a servant-girl came to him. She said: You were with Jesus the Galilean. The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it. After all, they repented at the preaching of Jonah. Yet someone greater than Jonah is here. The queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with this generation, and condemn it. She came from the ends of the earth to hear the Wisdom of Solomon. Someone greater than Solomon is here!
They kindled a fire in the midst of the court. They sat down together. Peter sat in the midst of them. A servant girl saw him sitting by the light of the fire. She looked steadfastly upon him and said: This man was also with him. He denied it saying: Woman, I do not know him!read more.

(Psalm 110:1) Therefore let all the house of Israel know for sure that God has made that same Jesus, whom you impaled, both Lord and Christ. (Acts 10:36) Now when they heard this, they were stabbed to the heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles: Men and brothers, what shall we do? Then Peter said: Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man will also be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
