Abraham then said: Indeed now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to Jehovah: Suppose twenty should be found there? God replied: I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty. Abraham again queried: Please do not be angry as I speak once more: Suppose ten should be found there? God said: I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.

Do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, declares Jehovah. I am with you. I will completely destroy all the nations where I scattered you, but I will not completely destroy you. I will correct you with justice. I will not let you go entirely unpunished.'

When you are in trouble (distress) and all these things happen to you in the latter days, turn to Jehovah your God and obey his voice. Jehovah your God is a merciful God. He will not forsake you. He will not destroy you, nor forget the covenant he made with your fathers.

We brought nothing into the world and we can carry nothing out. We should be content with having food and covering. Those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts. These draw men into ruin and destruction.

You have no need that I write to you about the times and dates, brothers. For you know perfectly that the Day of Jehovah will come like a thief in the night. (Zephaniah 1:14) When they say, Peace and security! then sudden destruction will come upon them, as labor pains come to a pregnant woman. They will not escape.

Enter through the narrow gate, since the gate to destruction is wide and the road that leads to destruction is wide and many enter through it.

But with righteousness he will judge the poor, and decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth (power of his words), and with the spirit (breath) of his lips he will destroy the wicked.

Jehovah confronts those who do evil in order to wipe out all memory of them from the earth.

Is it not ruin for the wicked, disaster for those who do wrong?

The wicked will be cut off from the land. The unfaithful will be uprooted.

Sin and self-satisfaction bring destruction and death to stupid fools.

He redeems your life from ruin and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies.
