'Advocate' in the Bible
Mordecai the Jew was second only to King Ahasuerus. He was the highest-ranking Jew, and he was admired by his numerous relatives. He worked enthusiastically for the good of his people and was an advocate for the welfare of all his descendants.
Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high.
He is a father to the fatherless and an advocate for widows. God rules from his holy palace.
He sees there is no advocate; he is shocked that no one intervenes. So he takes matters into his own hands; his desire for justice drives him on.
