'Cannot' in the Bible

Stop bringing useless offerings.Your incense is detestable to Me.New Moons and Sabbaths,and the calling of solemn assemblies—I cannot stand iniquity with a festival.

Look! I am stirring up the Medes against them,who cannot be bought off with silverand who have no desire for gold.

And if the document is given to one who cannot read and he is asked to read it, he will say, “I can’t read.”

Such people do not comprehendand cannot understand,for He has shut their eyes so they cannot see,and their minds so they cannot understand.

He feeds on ashes.His deceived mind has led him astray,and he cannot deliver himself,or say, “Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?”

“Come, gather together,and draw near, you fugitives of the nations.Those who carry their wooden idols,and pray to a god who cannot save,have no knowledge.

Look, they are like stubble;fire burns them up.They cannot deliver themselvesfrom the power of the flame.This is not a coal for warming themselves,or a fire to sit beside!

Israel’s watchmen are blind, all of them,they know nothing;all of them are mute dogs,they cannot bark;they dream, lie down,and love to sleep.

But the wicked are like the storm-tossed sea,for it cannot be still,and its waters churn up mire and muck.

You fast with contention and strifeto strike viciously with your fist.You cannot fast as you do today,hoping to make your voice heard on high.

Their webs cannot become clothing,and they cannot cover themselves with their works.Their works are sinful works,and violent acts are in their hands.

Justice is turned back,and righteousness stands far off.For truth has stumbled in the public square,and honesty cannot enter.
